EFFECTS OF AV1 AND ITS ABILITY TO CONNECT CHILDREN WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS TO THEIR CLASSROOM

The goal of this research is to investigate the social and educational benefits of virtual inclusion interaction among hospitalized children, their classmates, and their classroom.

The Norwegian start-up organization called No Isolation developed AV1, a personal robot that allows children to participate at school despite struggling with a long-term illness. No Isolation is on a “mission to reduce involuntary loneliness and social isolation by developing communication tools that help those affected” (No Isolation, 2019).
